The Headrush has been released simultaneously with the Helix LT. They are direct competition for each other. Helix has a strong. I think the technology on the helix, the gt1000, and the headrush is so good that in a blind test with any of those against a real tube amp, you would be hard pressed to tell a difference.
Question for guitarists: should I get the Helix/Headrush/AX8 if I already own a POD HD?
Hey guys. I don't know if this is the proper place to ask this, but I've been trying to improve my djent tone with my POD HD500, and I'm honestly starting to get sick of its low-quality amp/cab sims. I've switched to a 9-string guitar (I know, I know) and I just can't get anything to sound good on it. My job is about to offer a lot of overtime due to a major project, and I was thinking of saving up for a better effects/amp sim pedalboard. I know the major choices in the market are the Line 6 Helix, Fractal Audio AX8, and the Headrush pedalboard, but I'm wondering if they're actually that much better for djent than the POD HD, and if so, which of the three I should get. Thoughts?

Hi Axeheads Nearly picked up a secondhand Eleven Rack hardware unit but decided against it (I'm not a Pro Tools user) after reading some negative user feedback. I've been using Ampire native plug-in in Studio One Pro and NI Guitar Rig 5 but feel I should be using a more responsive alternative to these. I still occasionally record with my Pod XT (yeah, I know it's old...). I like the look of the Helix LT launched at Musikmesse last week, but wondered if anyone here owns or has done a serious play/test of the Headrush pedalboard unit? It appears to be designed by the Eleven Rack team -- is it similar quality modelling but with better quality convertors, or is the amp/cab modelling a noticeable improvement on the Avid Eleven Rack given Headrush uses quad core processors? I'm mainly looking to use it for recording. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
